I love polish pottery, the color purple, and Diet Dr. Pepper! I also enjoy helping students become successful in mathematics. My classroom is a place where students ask questions, work together and celebrate learning from their mistakes.
After graduating from high school in Kings Mountain, NC, I earned my BS in Mathematics, Secondary Education from Appalachian State University. I taught for four years at South Caldwell High School in Hudson, NC, and then I hopped on a plane and moved to Europe! For six years I taught at the International Christian School of Budapest, an American-style school for missionary kids and other internationals in Budapest, Hungary. Ask me about it sometime - it was AMAZING!
In 2012 I returned to the United States to be near family and attend Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. I graduated last December with a Master of Divinity in Women's' Studies.
Although I taught for three years at Rolesville High School in Rolesville, NC, I just returned home this January. I'm excited to begin teaching here at East Gaston High School!
